Control of classes from anywhere

With the sudden arrival of online education and students that can write my paper in 6 hours at first and blended or hybrid later, teachers had to adapt to a new teaching method. In practice, it meant that, due to the presence of students who followed their explanations from home, they could no longer move around the classroom the same way as before, gesturing, speaking, or simply showing the information from the blackboard or the teaching materials.

In this context, AOTech Security Solutions has designed ClassInTheBox, a device for teachers to have digital and face-to-face control of their classes once again. It is, basically, a box equipped with a wireless microphone with ambient noise cancellation, which is very useful to make compatible both the semi-presential classes and those totally online.

Characteristics

In addition to helping to avoid having to force the projection of the voice, it also includes a 2k resolution camera with a wide-angle lens with manual focus and high contrast to provide a quality image of the classes that are transmitted to the students at home. Its image processing minimizes the 'black silhouette' effect in backlight situations, showing a clear and defined image.

To use it, the teacher does not need to have computer skills: he only has to connect ClassInTheBox to his device through a single cable so that all the elements work simultaneously, and thus he can start his online or blended class. It works with any operating system (Windows, Chrome OS, MacOS, and Linux) and through the main videoconferencing platforms (Meet, Teams, Zoom ...)

Software city

Once connected, the device allows remote class management through the city LMS software (optional) so that teachers and students can see and hear each other, share their screens, ask questions and receive answers through a chat, share documents Google online… In this way, and thanks to this interaction between colleagues, regardless of whether they are in the classroom or at home, it is possible that they can work collaboratively.

The teacher can get up from the chair, thanks to the microphone with 15 meters of coverage and autonomy of eight hours. You can also change the volume or mute it without going near the computer and prevent everyone online from losing focus through its ability to cancel ambient noise. In addition, the system has an image signal switch that, with a simple click, allows you to change the plane instantly between the laptop's front camera and the 'city-cam.' In this way, videoconferences are enriched, and the physical barrier between face-to-face and online attendees is broken.

On the other hand, ClassInTheBox offers free webinars, which can be accessed in the 'Request a demo' section of its website. In addition to learning about how the device works, the sessions offer tips and inspiration for scheduling innovative and disruptive classes.
